Community Archaeology Handbook - 22 November 2012 21 November 2012

As part of the Trent Vale project we are aiming to produce a handbook for community groups and individuals on archaeology. It will advise people on how to go about organising different projects, what is involved, and what help you should seek.

There will be a session to write the chapter on 'Excavation' on 22nd November in Newark.

We'll be looking at how community groups can approach excavation projects, what is involved, etc.  If you have been along to any of our excavation or test pitting projects you probably have advice you would offer to others, or experiences you would like to share.  We really want this book to answer the questions that community groups and interested individuals have about archaeology, and so we really value your input.  And you probably have more to share than you realise.

If you would like to come along and help us write this chapter, over coffee (or tea) and cakes, please get in touch and let us know.  The session will be at the Canal and Rivers Trust Office, at The Kiln, Mather Road, Newark and it will run from 10am to 12.  Postcode for The Kiln is NG24 1FB
